Description

2008 Used Newmar KOUNTRY STAR 3623 Class A in California, CA. So we've had our coach for 2 years and it's been a great motorhome! But Dave says to sell it, so here we go.

When we bought our Kountry Star, we were looking for something that had a few unique items. One, I'm on the computer and phone all day (I'm still working) so I needed a computer desk. This model came with option K125_2, which is a combination desk and table. All cherry, table with two inserts, big enough for 4 people comfortably. The desk area has a slide-out for laptop and a lower slide-out for my printer. Perfect! I setup some cutting edge wireless router and a CPE device, which enabled me to connect to wifi up to a mile distant (including that with the sale). Combined with two hotspots (AT&T and Verizon) and an Weboost Drive 4-GX enabled me to do video conferences everywhere. So one box checked!

Next was the kitchen. My wife and I like to cook and eat healthy so we needed a large fridge, lots of cupboard/pantry space, and big sink. This coach has all that and more, including a 4-door stainless steel fridge, convection/microwave, double sink with Moen faucet, and great cupboard space. We use an InstantPot and it slides right in the cupboard above the stove. Plus, the RV was built with a modification; instead of the second sink next to the shower, it has a huge pantry. Another check!

We also are media addicts. It came with surround sound and 2 TV's but we upgraded all that. It's now got a low-profile Pioneer receiver with a kicker bass (under the sink), two Insignia Roku TV's, Sony BluRay, and Dish with a portable dish, cable adapter, and enabled for hard drive (for recording TV). Never upgraded the little radio speakers, but then we never had need to use them, even while driving. Check.

We wanted decent sleeping arrangements. It has a Denver mattress with additional heat-isolating foam pad. Hard to describe, but the bed is firm, soft, and always perfect temperature. And with the windows closes it's very quiet. The closet/wardrobe has hookups for stackable washer/dryer, but we never found the need for it; we valued the space and all the campgrounds always had good laundry facilities. The second Roku TV is perfect in there so when I had non-stop video conferences, my wife could escape to the room.

Another benefit was that the shower and bath are separate, and they're both isolated from the bedroom and front room by two doors. Privacy is a big thing on the road.

Yet another thing that appealed to me was the size and engine layout. Firstly, 36 foot is small enough to get into nearly every campground. However, to get a diesel pusher with a side-mounted radiator is important for easy access to the engine. If you want to do your own simple maintenance (oil, filters, etc.) then that's absolutely required.

Towing was another important factor. This RV comes with a Blue Ox towbar and Aire One control system.
