2008 Used Safari TREK Class A in Texas, TX. 2008 Safari Trek 29RBD Serial #0045; Double Slides; 35,600 miles This model has a queen-size bed that retracts to the ceiling to provide a large living area equal to that found in much larger units. A couple of bonuses are that the bed doesn't have to be made each day and someone can go to bed while the another sits up reading or watching TV. The dinette makes into a full-size bed as well.
All of the usual great features of Safari Treks such as: ice maker, Allison transmission, side-hinged cargo doors, 3-camera monitor, auto-leveling, and 2,000 watt inverter. Plus: Direct TV satellite antenna, central vacuum, aluminum wheels, electric front shades, double pane windows, window awnings, 5.5kw generator, factory option of booth dinette, 15k BTU A/C w/heat pump, factory option of book shelves, air horns, CB, 3 Fantastic fans, and 4 coach batteries. A TruCenter steering control has also been installed.
Upgrades and changes include: 32” TV, replacing the sofa and desk with 2 recliners, extending the Happi-Jack bed tracks to allow the bed to lower to regular bed height. The Happi-Jack is a major improvement over previous designs. Folks, this is our 2nd Safari Trek and we think this is probably the best RV ever made for a mature couple who wants to occasionally host a couple of small guests. The large windows around the living area make it truly a treat to just kick back and watch wildlife while still monitoring a football game. The lower bed height sure beats having to actually climb into bed (we're not getting any younger!).
If you are looking at this RV, I don't need to tell you about the huge bathroom, wardrobe, kitchen pantry, massive storage, etc., etc.; and especially the quality. It has full body paint (no decals to peel). Everything is maintained and operates as it should.
Oh yes, it comes with a box of spare parts such as transmission and generator filters, Ford engine serpentine belt, roof caulking, touch-up paint, 300-amp inverter fuse, windshield wipers, fluids. A pair of never-mounted Bilstein shocks are also included. The windshield is perfect.
Now, the bad news. There is a scrape along the bottom of a cargo door, see photo near steps. When the unit was new, a clear 3-M film was applied on the front (it cost about $1,500). It now has unsightly cracks, see photos. Options for it include: laboriously scrape it off (the paint is perfect underneath), cover it with a “bra,” or just leave it (which is what we did).
