Description

2017 Used Custom TEARDROP CAMPER Travel Trailer in California, CA. I just completed this beautiful 2017 Custom 5' x 8' Teardrop Trailer. The frame is welded using 2" x 2" steel tubing, 2,000 pound rated torsion axle, swing jack stand and 2" hitch ball. The wheels and tires are 14" and the steel wheels have been powder coated and come with baby moon hub caps. The walls are made of clear birch, the exterior skin I used Teak and Holly to give it a vintage boat look. I used 1" Tech foam insulation on the roof. There are seven coats of marine spar applied to the exterior teak and each layer was sanded between coats. All the metal has been powder coated, roof, fenders, trim and rear bumper. There are two doors going to the cabin, using stainless steel hinges and door latches. I used retro 1946 Plymouth tail-lights, the front hitch area sports a custom fiber glass battery box with latches to secure the box and there is a marine deep cell battery that also comes with the trailer. The main sleeping area is 5' x 6'2" and comes with a high density foam queen mattress. I built the cabinets and carved the deer using a CNC machine, the shelving also has an electrical plug and cable jack. The ceiling has two recessed reading lights and there is also a fantastic ceiling fan. The galley has some nice features, I built the cabinets and dove tailed the drawers, no nail or screws, the counter top is formica and trimed in oak. I also carved the Elk in 3-D, using the CNC machine. The custom mountain scene on the back wall is a steel plate and cut out using a plasma steel cutter, the steel is also powder coated in a bronze color. I don't equip my trailers with a sink or stove since I have seen so many older trailers come in with dry rot and smoke damage to the wood. It is best to have a portable stove and use away from under the galley lid door. I'm a avid teardrop user and use a stove outside my trailer. There is plenty of space in the cabinets and drawers. I also installed an electrical invertor AC/DC and installed a TV cable jack. You will not find another Teardrop Trailer like this one I built, the weight is under 800 pounds and most all cars can tow easily. Please see the pictures I attached and see the different stages of building the trailer. Please contact me for any questions regarding my Teardrop Trailer, Bruce.
