2017 Used Forest River R-POD 172 Toy Hauler in Massachusetts, MA. I bought this sweet camper late last summer and used it for only 4 weekends. Â It is in perfect condition, clean, absolutely nothing broken, chipped, or scratched. Â It was fully winterized in October 2016 and stored undercover in Massachusetts. Â It is covered by "Warranty Forever", which is transferable. Â It was inspected and passed by my dealer last June to ensure the continuation of the warranty.
A recent trip to the NADA Guides site suggests a list price with items and features I have of $16,871.  This price covers the standard R-Pod 172 off-the-lot features such as refrigerator, furnace, A/C, sink, stand-up shower, indoor toilet, outside shower hose, tent, entertainment system, microwave, etc. etc.  In addition to the standard off-the-lot sale, I purchased a SWEET "Prodigy RF Brake Control" unit - which works flawlessly.  This was a $400 additional purchase.  I also spent an additional $300 for a smaller and easier to install visor from PahaQue Custom Shop.  Lastly, I have an unused "PolyPro 3" full top to bottom, front to back cover sized for this R-Pod 172 (an additional $200 purchase).  Great for winter storage!The unit tows well behind my Ford Focus, and it's weight allows for tow-behind for this class of car: the sub-sized SUV.  My Escape would be categorized as a "CUV".  Check with your dealer to ensure the towing capacity of your car.This sweet unit offers many things to many people:
~ a retired couple, wanting to downsize from the huge trailer they have been pulling;
~ a young couple with young children wanting to transition from tent camping to real luxury;
~ a couple without children wanting to spend quality outdoor time wandering here, there, and everywhere.
I'm selling simply because my life's conditions have changed. Â A widower now, with two sons (and 2 new grandchildren!) in cities to the south and mid-west, I am torn between my home in Western Massachusetts and their homes many hours away. Â I am in the final stages of selling my home and plan on relocating in November. Â When my grandchildren get a few years older, I would not hesitate to purchase another R-Pod from Forest River. Â Great craftsmanship at the right size for the right price.
